Welcome to the world of Lineage 2—the legendary MMORPG that continues to conquer the hearts of players even now, after many years since its launch. If you’re just starting your journey here, this guide will help you work out the main features of the game.

Lineage 2 was released by NCSOFT, a video game developer from South Korea. This company is famous for its elaborate fantasy MMORPGs with an open world and wide-scale sieges for hundreds of players, and Lineage 2 is a perfect example of such a game.

All rights for Lineage 2 publishing in Europe are owned by Innova Co.
Lineage 2 Essence and how it differs from the main Lineage 2

Not too long ago a new version of the well-known Lineage 2 appeared, Lineage 2 Essence, and it has some differences from its parent.

Lineage 2 Essence is best suited for solo players. Here you don’t have to search for a party to grow. Each class is self-sustaining and has buffs for leveling up without any help from others.

As a result, you are saving your strength on leveling up and have more time for other activities, such as PvP. The Essence version has inherited a lot from the original Lineage 2, but its gameplay has been remade to be friendlier for new players. Moreover, it receives its own regular updates with unique classes, dungeons and locations.

What is Project Eva?

It is a separate Lineage 2 Essence server that will grant you the unique game experience. It features easy-to-understand mechanics, transparent economy system and the Eva Pass support kits.

There are no collections, tattoos or Sayha’s energy in Project Eva. We have simplified these features as to not distract you from hot battles and other game contents.

All equipment can be obtained from fights with bosses or bought at the ingame store for adena collected from monsters. It’ll take some work to gear up your character, it will be no easy feat.

The only things that can be purchased for real money in the Eva world are coin kits and Eva Pass with some consumables and adena. It’s entirely possible to play without it, however, Eva Pass will make your leveling-up just a bit easier.

You can buy no more than 5 Eva Passes a month per account.

Lineage 2 is the original game version loved by millions of players all over the world. It’s a fantasy MMORPG where your characters have dual classes, and you can switch between them any time you want. The vast open world is yours to explore, alone or together with your clan. And if you tire of fighting monsters, you can always take part in large-scale cross-server battles.

Here both solo players and those who love to interact with others will find something to their liking. You can always ease up your leveling process with the autohunting feature, and cross-server sieges and raids let you communicate with peers. The game is updated regularly, so in 15 years since its launch the Lineage 2 world has been greatly expanded.

In 2024 Lineage 2 is still very much in play. The game receives regular updates that add new servers, features and activities to the familiar world.

The classic experience or new adventures—no matter what you’re looking for, Lineage 2 can offer something for you. We hope that this guide will help you start your journey through Elmoreden. Good luck on the battlefield!

Lineage 2 classes and features
Lineage 2 offers dozens of class archetypes, each with its own unique abilities. From warriors and mages to archers and rogues—everyone will find a class to their liking here. Beside the class variety, the game has a lot of other features: the clan system, solo and mass PvP (a lot of PvP!) and many others.

Why play official
When you start playing on the official servers, you get:

• full English localization (and also Polish and Spanish for Lineage 2 Essence);

• regular updates and support from the game developers;

• exclusive events and offers;

• large and active community;

• server stability and protection from fraud.

Tips for new Lineage 2 players

Think about your initial class:
When you choose your character’s class, consider not only its abilities but also your own playstyle. Do you prefer face-to-face combat and survivability? Then warriors will be the best choice for you. Or maybe you like killing enemies from a distance and casting flashy spells? Then be a mage! And don’t hesitate to experiment.

Find yourself a team:
Lineage 2 is a MMORPG, and a lot of missions and raids here require teamwork, so it is highly recommended that you find some friends or join a clan. Playing together is much more fun, and besides, cooperation with others will give you access to more game content!

Learn about the game economy:
Trade and craft play an important role in Lineage 2. Learning to do it efficiently will net you a nice income.

Take part in events:
Regular events and offers give you unique rewards and experience.

Participate in PvP battles:
Player vs Player (PvP) fighting is one of the main Lineage 2 features. The PvP system allows you to diversify your game process and challenge other players. You can take part in duels as well as mass battles that determine the strongest among the clans.

Check out the game updates and patches:
Regular updates may change the game balance, add new features or correct the existing mechanics. You can always check the latest patch notes on the game site.

Set up your UI:
Customized user interface may drastically change your game experience. Set it up to suit you best with various modifications or standard game settings.

Lineage 2 is an extensive and complex game with a lot of exploration, battles and socialization. We hope that our tips will help you learn more about the game and enjoy it to the fullest. We wish you many exciting adventures in the Lineage 2 world!

Othel Rogue has become more durable, faster, and deadlier in melee combat. Immunity to debuffs, record-breaking evasion, and «death protection» for 10 seconds allow for much greater confidence in PvP. Buff management has also been simplified by consolidating effects.

Key offensive skills received increased crit chance and improved visuals.
