Professions of Midgard: Mage — Wizard — High Wizard

High Wizards use their knowledge of elements to wreak absolute havoc on the battlefield. Their fierce attacks using the most destructive forces of nature instill fear into the hearts of even the toughest opponents. Lightning, flames and earthquakes are all under their control. The most resolute High Wizards rise through the ranks to become Warlocks.

Getting the job

Once you reach job level 10 as a novice and have learned Basic Skills level 9 you can become a Mage. To do that you need to go to Geffen and contact the Mages Guild. To become a Wizard, a mage must reach the professional level of 40 and pass an exam at the Geffen Tower. To become a high wizard you need to reach level 99/50 and find the Book of Ymir in the Castle of Sages in Juno.

Shows complete information about the monster to the character and members of his group. Consumes 10 SP on use.

Quest Skills

Summons a protective sphere of fire that surrounds the character. When in contact with it, the enemy takes damage equal to the character's magical attack, and is pushed back. After that, the skill is terminated. In zones of WOE, the sphere does not repel.

Duration: 2 minutes.

High Wizard

Cancels the effect of any zone spell in a 3x3 area around the target location. This skill is not affected by items or skills that reduce the cost of gems. The skill cooldown is 5 sec. Requires 1 blue and 1 yellow gemstones.
Requirement: [Quagmire] (lv. 1) [Stave Crasher] (lv. 1) [Mystical Amplification] (lv. 10) 
Increases gravity in an area of 5 x 5 cells around the selected location and deals neutral magic damage. The number of hits depends on the skill level. The damage depends on the base level of the character.

Using psychokinesis, inflicts several hits on the enemy in a 3x3 area around the target, with a certain chance to inflict a curse on it. The number of hits applied depends on the skill level. The damage depends on the base level of the character.

Changes in Renewal

Mage

Fire Bolt/ Cold Bolt/ Lightning Bolt

  • The fixed cast time for the skill at level 10 was increased from 0.88 sec to 1.2 sec.
  • The variable cast time for the skill at level 10 was reduced from 3.52 sec to 3.2 sec.
  • The skill cooldown was significantly reduced.

Thunderstorm

  • The fixed cast time for the skill at level 10 was reduced from 1.6 sec to 1.5 sec.
  • The variable cast time for the skill at level 10 was reduced from 6.4 sec to 4.5 sec.

Fire Ball

  • The fixed and variable cast time for the skill at level 1-5 was changed and now it is the same as the cast times for the skill at the level 6-10 (0.2 sec. for fixed cast time and 0.8 sec. for variable cast time).
  • The skill cooldown was reduced to 0.7 sec. regardless of the level

Soul Strike

  • Now the skill cooldown is the same for all levels - 1.4 sec. (it was reduced at level 10 from 2.5 sec. to 1.4 sec)

Frost Driver

  • The skill Cooldown was reduced from 1.5 sec. to 0.5 sec.

Wizard Skills

Lord of Vermillion

  • The fixed cast time for the skill at level 10 was reduced from 1.68 sec. to 1.5 sec.
  • The variable cast time of the skill at level 10 was reduced from 6.72 sec. to 4.5 sec.
  • The skill cooldown was reduced from 5 sec. to 1 sec.
  • A recharge time was added to the skill: 5 sec.
  • The skill mechanics changed. Now instead of 4 attacks with 10 charges, now one attack with 20 is performed.
  • The damage was slightly increased.

Meteor Storm

  • The fixed cast time of the skill at level 10 was reduced from 2.4 sec. to 1.5 sec.
  • The variable cast time of the skill at level 1- was reduced from 9.6 sec. to 6.3 sec.
  • The skill cooldown was reduced from 7 seconds to 1 second.
  • A recharge time was added to the skill: 7 sec.

Storm Gust

  • The fixed cast time for the skill at level 10 was reduced from 2.4 sec. to 1.5 sec.
  • The variable cast time level 10 was reduced from 9.6 sec. to 6.3 sec.
  • The skill cooldown was reduced from 5 seconds to 1 second.
  • A recharge time was added to the skill: 6 sec.

Jupitel Thunder

  • The fixed cast time for the skill at level 10 was reduced from 1.12 sec. to 0.5 sec.
  • The variable cast time of the skill at level 10 was reduced from 4.48 sec. to 3.8 sec.

Earth Spike

  • The fixed cast time of the skill at level 5 was increased from 0.56 sec. to 1.2 sec.
  • The variable cast time of the skill at level 5 was increased from 2.24 sec. to 3.2 sec.
  • The skill cooldown at level 5 was reduced from 1.8 sec. to 1.4 sec.
  • Damage per hit was increased from 100% to 200%

Heaven’s Drive

  • The fixed cast time for the skill at level 5 was increased from 0.64 sec. to 0.8 sec.
  • The variable cast time for the skill at level 5 was reduced from 3.2 sec. to 1.9 sec.
  • The skill cooldown at level 5 was reduced from 1 sec. to 0.5 sec.
