Welcome to Elmoreden!

Introduction

Lineage 2 - the one and only legend from the MMORPG world is 12 years old in Europe. A huge open world with a focus on social interaction. Here knights held back monster attacks, healers get you out of the dead, and bards encourage your teammates. And, of course, the game features a huge selection of different archetypes, specializing in damage and different types of weapons.

Also, you can always create a dual class and switch to it at any time. Tired of being a knight? Become a healer!

This guide focuses on key game mechanics that are worth knowing at certain levels of character progression. More detailed information on each aspect of the game described here can be found in the official l2central.info knowledge base.

Registration

To start playing Lineage 2, you need to create an account at eu.4game.com. You can also use bloggers' and streamers' referral links, which can be found in the "bloggers'' tab in the official 4game launcher.

System Requirements

After creating an account, take a look at the computer system requirements for a Lineage 2.

Character creation

Server selection

Creating a character starts with selecting a server. At the first login into the game a recommended server will be suggested. Now the next servers are available in the game: Core and Orfen.

Race selection

Multiple races are available to play: humans, elfs, dark elfs, orcs, dwarfs, kamael, and ertheia.

Class selection

There are two main subtypes in Lineage 2: warrior and mage.

As the character develops, you can choose one of the classes.

Please note, professions are different by race. You can find more information about classes in the official guides.

To the left side of the character in the creation menu there is information that gives a detailed overview of the race, their features, as well as basic class stats and a class tree.

Autohunting

The auto-hunting function will help to make the process of leveling up the character easier. For your comfort you can use the macro created in a special menu, which can be opened by pressing the R key.

For the players' convenience, some game features have been automated.

There are several features that can be automatized: automation of enhancing skills, supply use, automatic target selection and item selection.

Automation is only available for a part of skills and items. Skills and items for which automation is possible are marked with corresponding marks in the description.

The Automation window can be moved to any place on the screen, as well as resized.

Completing quests

Quests appear on the screen in the form of a pop-up window with a conversation. To continue the quest, you need to click the “Accept” button. If the dialog window still does not appear, go to the appropriate NPC and talk to him. The “Help” button opens the hints menu.

The process of leveling up your character is based on completing various quests given by NPCs, as well as hunting monsters in common locations, special zones and dungeons.

Skill use

Skills are special abilities that are unique to each class.

Available skills will appear in a special skill learning menu, which can be opened by pressing the K key. A skill can also be registered on the hotkey bar by simply dropping it there.

Forgotten Power skills

Forgotten Power skills — special skills available to all characters. The study is available from level 86 for all characters who have completed the quest for Awakening (3rd Liberation). There are a total of 5 Forgotten Power Skills: Physical Attack, Magic Attack, Armor Defense, Elemental Guard, and Vitalizing. These skills are available at the Olympiad and Ceremony of Chaos.

Abilities system

Abilities are additional skills that allow you to increase your character's strength. Abilities serve as passive skills, but are not displayed in the character's skill window.

There are three ability lines available: Warrior, Knight, and Oracle. You can choose any direction independently of your character's class and race.

To open the abilities window, open the Character Profile window (Alt + T) and then click the abilities button.

After reaching level 85, all characters automatically have abilities available to them.

Abilities for dual and main classes are learned separately.

You can reset and change abilities at any time, except for the battle status and after registration for the Olympiad.

The cost to reset ability points is 50 000 SP.

The character will gain 1 ability point for each level gained after level 85.

The number of ability points is a fixed amount. Ability points are not lost or added if the character's level drops by 1 or more.

When the level drops from 85 to 84, abilities are no longer active and the ability button becomes inactive, but will reappear after reaching 85. Already taken abilities and the number of ability points are kept.

Homunculi

Homunculi are artificial creatures that enhance you through their passive abilities.

You have 18 homunculus slots in total, 3 of them for free, others can be opened for a fee.

A homunculus can be created through a special UI. Go to the main menu and press the Homunculi button, or click on the icon in the sidebar to open the window.

Creation is not possible without free cells for Homunculus on the Manage tab.

There are two ways of creating a homunculus: through the Cradle of Life or through the Cradle of Time.

There are a total of 3 ranks of homunculi: normal, expert, and Top-grade rank.

The homunculus can be upgraded with upgrade points (“Manage” tab).

Cursed Weapons: Zariche and Akamanah

Demonic Sword Zariche and Blood Sword Akamanah are special cursed weapons that appear during a weekly PvP event.

The event takes place from Monday to Thursday, from 18:00 till 23:59.

You can get the time-limited weapon Demonic Sword Zariche or Blood Sword Akamanah during the event, and if you manage to keep it until the end of the event, you will get a reward in adena and a permanent Zariche/Akamanah weapon or special materials for its upgrade.

The cursed sword event takes place from Monday to Thursday, from 18:00 till 23:59. If you kill a monster or a player of Lv. 95 or higher in any location at this time, you have a chance to spawn Demonic Sword Zariche or Blood Sword Akamanah beside the corpse.

If you take the cursed weapon, you will not be able to unequip, drop, destroy or trade it.

Only one Demonic Sword Zariche and one Blood Sword Akamanah can exist at the same time.

When the sword appears, the world turns red for a few seconds, and the system message about the sword's location is shown in the chat window. Additionally, a sword symbol appears on the world map as well as the current reward (basic and additional) and Zariche's/Akamanah's Treasure Chests.

The last keeper of the sword gets 5,000,000,000 adena as a guaranteed reward and an additional reward according to the Demonic Sword Zariche or Blood Sword Akamanah effect level. So, your overall reward can amount to 10,000,000,000 adena. The reward is sent by mail.

If no one claims the sword during the event, its basic reward is transferred to the next cycle.

Along with the cursed sword, a similarly-named chest appears near the Sea of Spores. The chest is surrounded by 4 Priests of Purification who will try to destroy it if not petrified. The Priests do not attack players.

The location with the chest is considered a combat zone.

Illusory gear can only be equipped. It cannot be sold, traded, thrown away, enhanced with an attribute, inserted with a Soul Crystal, or enchanted with an Augmenting Stone.

Illusory Equipment Points can be obtained in the time zone of Lurin's Secret Workshop.

Now the maximum number of points does not depend on the character's level. The maximum number of points for all levels is 1000.

The illusory gear interface has a special store that opens by clicking on the icon.

Here you can spend illusory gear points on useful items for leveling up:

Notice: the contents of the store, equipment list and useful effects may vary from season to season.

Collected points, items from the store, and illusory equipment received are deleted at the end of each season.

Relics

The relic system allows you to increase your character's stats. You can find it on your sidebar and in the main menu.

Relic summoning, upgrading, compounding, collecting and confirming are shared among all the characters of an account, but not across servers.

Relics can be of different grades. Also, there are common and shining relics:

Relic Summon

Use a Relic Summon Coupon in your inventory to open the Relic Summon UI.

When using a relic, pay attention to the weapon type: for the passive buff to work completely, the weapon type of the relic must match the character's weapon type.
